Özgür Kartal is an affiliated PhD candidate at Maastricht University’s Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA) in cooperation with the Department of Organisation, Strategy & Entrepreneurship (OSE). The cross-departmental supervisory team consists of Prof. dr. Didier Fouarge (ROA), Dr. Marie-Christine Fregin (ROA), Dr. Jermain Kaminski (OSE) and Dr. Roman Briker (OSE). Özgür started his PhD in May 2021. His research focuses on employee-technology interaction and decision-making process in human-AI systems.
Özgür received his bachelor’s and master's degrees in industrial engineering and management specialized in electrical engineering and information systems from the Technical University of Darmstadt and completed his final thesis at the Institute of Information Systems. Besides his PhD research, he works at IBM Deutschland GmbH as a sales consultant in the field of Hybrid Multicloud, Big Data and AI.
