Tianyu Yang (Zola) is a PhD candidate at the Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA) at Maastricht University. Under supervision of Prof. Carla Haelermans and Prof. dr. Rolf van der Velden, he works on a dissertation on Students’ Optimal Choice for Higher Education Institutions: An Empirical Study on Costs and Returns of Higher Education of Different Qualities.
He studied the Master of Finance in University of Melbourne, Australia during the academic year 2016/2018, and Master of Education in Chinese University of Hong Kong during the academic year 2014/2015. In addition, Tianyu obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics and Comparative Literature at the University of Washington, USA. After his master, he has worked as a junior researcher at PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University and Graduate School of Education, Peking University.
