Against the backdrop of structural labour market shortages, it is important for society that young people choose education fields that not only match their interests and talents but also lead to professions with good labour market prospects and social value, particularly in sectors such as healthcare, education and technology. The study examines what information young people use, through which channels they obtain it, how they weigh up labour market opportunities and what considerations they make. The research combines a literature review, quantitative analyses of educational data, qualitative field research at vocational colleges, and a survey with experimental elements among vocational college graduates.
