Abstract

This ai:conomics policy brief delves into the process of co-creating tailored research instruments with companies. This brief follows the creation of a survey experiment in one of the ai:conomics use-cases, measuring quality control workers’ preferences for AI-induced changes in their work. The scientific process of building the survey experiment for data collection was inspired by and formalized in a Design Thinking process, integrating perspectives and feedback from multiple stakeholders such as researchers, workers, project managers, human resources managers, and works councils. The brief offers valuable insights into how co-creation can be leveraged to explore the impact of AI in the workplace, providing inspiration for stakeholders in science, business, and policy on how to effectively implement co-creative research projects.
