Teachers

  • Within the theme of “Teachers”, at ROA we conduct research into the development of teachers' skills, both during their training and throughout their careers. We also identify ways to make the teaching profession more attractive. And we measure the effectiveness of promising approaches to attracting and retaining teachers.

We conduct these studies in co-creation with teachers, school leaders and policymakers. Most studies are part of the Teacher Lab, a unique practical research collaboration between 50 schools, policymakers and researchers. Within the Teacher Lab, we combine knowledge from educational practice with scientific research to develop promising teacher policies. Our research methods include large-scale data analyses, experiments, surveys, in-depth interviews, cost-benefit analyses and literature reviews. The results are shared in policy reports and scientific publications, among other outlets.
