Call for Papers: Maastricht Workshop on Applied Economics of the Environment (MAEE)

Climate change and environmental pollution are central challenges of our time. Environmental policies that can effectively and equitably incentivize the energy transition, foster climate change resilience and adaptation, and reduce the detrimental impact of environmental degradation on human well-being are urgently needed.

To this end, policymakers must strike a balance between the benefits and costs of such policies, and achieving this necessitates a robust foundation of empirical evidence on their impacts. The aim of the “Maastricht Workshop on Applied Economics of the Environment” is to bring together applied economists to discuss research providing credible empirical evidence on the costs and benefits of environmental and/or climate change policies.

We welcome submissions of papers (including extended abstracts) that address environmental issues, climate change, or evaluate environmental policies from all areas of economics, with a special emphasis on  contributions from labor, public, urban, health, or education economics.
