Consortium partner in NOLAI (Nationaal OnderwijsLab AI)In Progress
NOLAI is the national AI lab for primary and secondary education, funded by the National Growth Fund. NOLAI develops and researches responsible educational AI in dozens of projects at schools throughout the Netherlands. Collaboration between education, business, and scientists is central to this.
NOLAI works on co-creation and co-implementation projects and focuses on innovation, with an overarching scientific team that ensures scientific quality and research into and within the projects.
NOLAI brings together various scientific disciplines to conduct research into responsible AI in education in five focus areas. From pedagogics and didactics and the professionalization of teachers to sustainable data, from ethics to the underlying technology. Each scientific discipline has two scientists as leads for the focus area.
Prof. Dr. Carla Haelermans of ROA is involved in NOLAI, representing Maastricht University as a consortium partner, as one of the leads of the pedagogics/didactics focus area, together with Prof. Dr. Eliane Segers of Radboud University.
