M. Monfrance
Mélanie Monfrance is a research leader at the Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA) at Maastricht University. She earned her PhD in 2024 from the School of Business and Economics at Maastricht University with a dissertation titled “Exploring Non-Cognitive Skills and Inequality through the Magnifying Lens of a Pandemic.” Her research primarily focuses on non-cognitive skills, learning, and educational inequality. Mélanie is actively involved in the Nationaal Cohortonderzoek Onderwijs and the OnderwijsMonitor Limburg.
She completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Sociology at Tilburg University, where she extended her Master’s program by interning at the Dutch Inspectorate of Education. Prior to joining ROA, Mélanie worked as a junior researcher at the Institute for Evidence-Based Education Research (TIER) at Maastricht University and at Fontys University of Applied Sciences.
