Lei Shi is an affiliated PhD candidate at Maastricht University's Research Centre of Education and the Labour Market (ROA). Under the supervision of Prof. dr. Carla Haelermans, her research focuses on the effect of digital tools in education on students' performance in primary school.

Lei obtained her bachelor's degree in Economics from the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics in China and a master's degree in Labour Economics from the Central University of Finance and Economics in China. Her research interests include labour economics, education policy, and digital tools in education.
