Labour Market Forecasts
-
Within this theme, ROA is involved in producing labour market forecasts for the Netherlands. ROA has been producing these labour market forecasts since the late 1980s. At national and regional level, a supply and demand model is used to estimate bottlenecks in education and professions for the next six years. The model takes into account the expected economic climate, as well as structural labour market trends such as ageing, the energy transition, skills upgrading and technological developments. The forecasts are used to describe developments in the alignment between education and the labour market and are used by many stakeholders, such as ministries, prospective students and educational institutions.
