Enabling a promising transition from elementary to secondary education for students with language difficultiesIn Progress
This project aims to gain further insight into how pupils with language deficits can be provided with long-term support in an intervention that transcends primary and secondary education. In this study, Cooperation coalitions (primary and secondary schools) together with the researchers engage in a four-year learning program that will help primary and secondary schools to better guide and support pupils with language deficits in the transition from primary to secondary education. Specifically, this involves language support in grade 7/8 and in the first year of secondary school, as well as cooperation between primary and secondary schools. We base the intervention on elements known to be effective from research and on practical experience. We test and investigate (experienced) effectiveness. The project is being carried out in collaboration with Sardes, Stichting Boor, Saro, CVO, and FOKOR.
