ai:conomics Policy Brief #09b has been published

Abstract

This policy brief presents key recommendations from the ai:conomics project on shaping AI innovations through a co-creative learning process. AI implementation is complex and requires aligning corporate innovation culture with continuous AI learning. Organisations benefit from fostering AI literacy, embracing experimentation, and integrating structured participation processes. Cross-company exchange remains limited due to internal decision-making complexities, but sharing experiences – including failures – can minimise costly mistakes. Effective AI implementation also depends on collaboration with independent research, balancing scientific rigor with business agility. Identifying strategically relevant AI projects for research enhances insights, while structured cooperation ensures a sustainable innovation culture. Transparent communication and gradual engagement with external stakeholders facilitate knowledge sharing. Ultimately, shaping AI responsibly requires a proactive approach, continuous learning, and openness to new methodologies. The findings emphasise that AI adoption should not be treated as a one-time implementation but as an evolving, collaborative process that integrates technological, organisational, and human-centred perspectives.
