The Research Center for Education and the Labour Market (ROA) is one of the largest research institutes and market leaders in the field of education and the labour market. ROA focuses on both high-quality scientific research and policy-oriented (contract) research, thereby making a substantial impact on policy and society. ROA’s research covers the entire life cycle: from preschool education and regular education to lifelong learning, the labour market, and retirement.
ROA was founded in 1986 and is a research institute of the School of Business and Economics at Maastricht University. The research conducted by ROA focuses primarily on skills development and covers the entire life cycle: from preschool education to education, from education to the (dynamic) labor market, and from the labor market to retirement.
We conduct research focused on economic and social issues and develop practical solutions for both the public and private sectors. Our research and advisory activities concentrate mainly on the themes listed below.
For specific questions or tailored advice on any of these themes, please contact the relevant contact person listed. If your theme is not listed or if you have a general question, please feel free to contact secretary-roa-sbe@maastrichtuniversity.nl.
