The Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA), as part of the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics, is conducting an independent research project. Its main objective is to understand the motivations, preferences, and job satisfaction of workers offering their freelancing servicesthrough digital platforms, such as YoungOnes.
The research will consist of a survey via the Qualtrics software. The data manager of Maastricht University (ROA) will download the response to the survey and store the data in a secure location on the server of Maastricht University, only accessible for the data manager of Maastricht University (ROA). The data manager of Maastricht University (ROA) will remove all personal data and create an identification key. Then, based on the identification key, the research team of Maastricht University (ROA) will link administrative data from YoungOnes (e.g. number and type of gigs executed) to the survey and will remove the identification key, thus creating an anonymized dataset available only to the research team of Maastricht University (ROA).
The anonymized data will only be accessible and used by the researchers involved in the research team at Maastricht University (ROA). The research team at Maastricht University (ROA) will never report on individual responses; the minimum number of respondents for reporting per answer category is five. The research data will be retained for a period of 10 years.
